The Philosophy of Gradations - Part Two

(from page 28 of  the book)

The life of man, his bodily development, is directed by nature, as we say.  But it is men, with life as guide, who direct man's social life. And in life as well as in nature, the black color is not absent; as death, the limit, is not absent. And man is obliged to use it. But he will restrict it within its own space and boundaries. So as not to make the whole picture black. The Sun with its many spots is all light. Man will honor the black color and he will use it in whatever the moment requires. For a grave or for a throne. For a sinkhole or a stair. We have to use it, when we direct a course. The course of society within the social phenomena, with life and man's progress as a guide. When we live the course of the social phenomenon consciously.
